You father discovers where you are and brings you home. A fight ensues and you go upstairs to your room and pass out.

The next morning you awaken to find that your parents and older brother have disappeared, along with the family cars.

Twenty-five years later, you are now married with a child and still have no earthly idea what happened to your family. And so, attempts to unravel the mystery are made and the mystery is unraveled.

The Necklace by the Women of Jewelia and Cheryl Jarvis

There is a gorgeous diamond necklace for sale in a jewelry store. One woman covets it but the price is too high. She comes up with a creative way to purchase it by enlisting the contributing capacity of several friends. The group is able to buy the necklace and take turns wearing it.

In each chapter of this book, we are introduced to another one of the “wearers” and are privy to how the wearing of the necklace changed each one.

This is an interesting foray into a rather innovative idea.

Born to Run by James Grippando

Previously, I have read both Lying with Strangers and When Darkness Falls by this author and enjoyed them both. So it was not with a great deal of difficulty that I embarked on Grippando’s latest entry.

This is the story of a presidency of the United States and the mystery surrounding it.

The author pays a great deal of attention to detail and this reader found the intricacies of running the Government of the United States interesting.

If you enjoy a fast-paced story, this one’s for you.

Too Close to Home by Linwood Barclay

Imagine you are a teenage boy, hiding out in your best friend’s home with the intention of arranging a rendezvous with your girlfriend while your best friend and his family are away on vacation. Unforeseen circumstances arise and suddenly you have placed yourself in a seemingly inescapable predicament.

As this story unfolds, the reader eagerly awaits the outcome of the mystery. The author has a “way with writing” that forces the reader to read on to discover all the why’s and wherefore’s of this interesting thriller.

This was a first-time read for me of this author, and I enjoyed it so much that I have requested several of his other entries.
