The Forgotten by David Baldacci

If there is one thing you can say about David Baldacci, it's that he's consistent.  Consistently good that is.  His latest work is a good story about a repeat character named John Puller.  His previous book featuring this character was Zero Day.

John is investigating the death of his aunt.  In the course of the investigation, he comes across several things which peak his interest. He delves into them and comes across clues which lead to a human trafficking ring.

This is a good thriller.  Baldacci doesn't reveal who all the bad guys are until the end which keeps the reader on the edge of their seat.  Keep up the good writing.

Notorious Nineteen by Janet Evanovich

Okay- so we have the usual "bones" of the book, i.e. Morelli, Ranger, Lula and Grandma.  Ranger is in a pickle and Stephanie is along for the ride.  Some harrowing circumstances push this almost into "thriller" territory but not quite.  There's still enough humor to make this a light mystery.  If you're well read in this genre, you'll figure out the plot before it's revealed.  Not to worry though, it's an enjoyable read.

The Panther by Nelson DeMille

First let me say that one of the first books I listened to on audio was DeMille's Plum Island and I LOVED it.  I've also read many of his other books and enjoyed them as well, particularly, The Lion which I thought was fast-paced and thrilling.

However, I did not like his latest entry at all.  I found it to be too wordy and the story dragged on and on in spots. 

I ended up skimming the last hundred pages or so.  I do hope his next entry is better.
