The Counterfeit Agent by Alex Berenson
I read one of this author's books several months ago and wrote about it in this blog. The title was Midnight House. It was an intriging book and fostered my appetite to read more of this author.
This title is the author's most recent (published in 2014) featuring John Wells. It is easy to see why many crtics feel this author has a "handle" on the spy/thriller genre.
In this book the setting covers many different countries including the United States, Guatemals, Thailand, Hong Kong and Istanbul. Wells becomes engaged in an extensive search to discover a former CIA operative who appeares to have vanished. Wells also learns of a plot to move uranium to the U.S. and works with port authorities to ensure that it never happens.
This novel is very current and considers the unthinkable. There is much action in this story and one can easily visualize all the movement and the characters.
