The Last Resort-A Wanderlust Mystery by April Star

Another new author to this reader. This was an okay mystery. The setting is an RV park. The story opens with David and Laura discovering a bottle in the water. Inside the bottle is what looks to be sand but as the story unravels, we discover that it is something else.

This was definitely NOT a Harlan Coben, nor a Lisa Gardner nor a Lee Child mystery. Those are fast-paced, edge-of-your-seat thrillers which I enjoy immensely. This was more in the line of Diane Mott Davidson, Dorothy Cannell, or Jill Churchill. What I like to call “light” mysteries.

The story was alright. Nothing too devious or too out of the ordinary. Quite predictable even down to the poisoning and what was used. This book had entirely too much verbiage for this reader. Just so you know this is the second book in the “Wanderlust Mystery” series. I, for one, do not think I’ll read another one.

Ladybookbug!
