The Last Time I Saw You by Elizabeth Berg

This is the story of a 40th High School Class Reunion. Pete Decker, football player extraordinaire and man-about-town is very excited about the prospect of luring his soon to be ex back into his arms again.

Candy Armstrong, the class beauty, has just been given a death notice but decides to attend the reunion after all. Dorothy has always dreamed of getting together with Pete and has high hopes for the reunion. Mary Alice decides to attend with the old gent she is caring for. Lester has some misgivings about the whole thing but his secretary persuades him that the reunion is just the ticket.

All of these personalities converge on the reunion with dreams and hopes of rekindling old relationships and starting new ones. This is a welcoming foray into what each one of us may expect from a class reunion.

Ms. Berg’s novels hit the emotional nail on the head and this one is exceptionally well done. Not to be missed.
