A Face at the Window: a home repair is homocide mystery by Sarah Graves

If you have never read one of the titles in this series, now is a good time to start. This latest entry pits Jake against a character from her past.
Her niece is kidnapped along with the babysitter. There are two thugs nosing around Eastport, Maine looking for Jake. Jake finds her at the bottom of a gravel pit with nowhere to turn. And in the midst of all this excitement, she is busy repairing the cement walk that leads to her house.
I guess I would consider these mysteries to be light although there is plenty of action in this story and it moves right along to the conclusion. This is definitely not a thriller and that’s okay, it doesn’t have to be. It is good mystery writing and has some invaluable home repair tips thrown in for good measure.
