9 Dragons by Michael Connelly

When a consummate mystery writer comes out with a new entry—what can you say? In this latest entry, Mr. Connelly becomes entangled with the murder of a store-owner. The murdered man appears to have an unusual set of tattoos on the bottom of his feet. Henry Bosch, detective, is assigned to the case. In an effort to discern what the tattoos mean, he forwards a copy to his daughter, living with his ex-wife in Hong Kong. And, so begins a mystery.
This was a good story and one which had this reader hooked about a few chapters in, reading voraciously until the end.
I think Connelly ranks right up there with Patterson and Baldacci.
