Rainwater by Sandra Brown

Before reading this latest entry by Ms. Brown, I was aware of the fact that this story is a total departure from her usual fare. With that in mind, I embarked in a new direction. I was not disappointed.

If one were to compare this entry with her usual mystery/thrillers, you might find yourself less than impressed but stick with it. It is a somewhat gentle story that takes place in the 1930’s in the west. Rainwater is the name of a well-to-do gentlemen who happens upon a small town . He takes up residence in a small boarding house and his influence affects the rest of the story.

I did like this book. The ending is a bit of a surprise but not unduly so. It is a quick read, being a small sized book of approximately 245 pages. If you’re up for a change, take a look.
